At the University of Glasgow admission to do a science degree is handled by a central body, rather than individual departments. Computing Science, Mathematics, Psychology and Statistics and form the Faculty of Information and Mathematical Sciences within the overall Faculties of Science. If you are offered a place on a degree programme you gain entry to Science rather than a specific department.
The great strength of this system is that it gives you a lot of flexibility . Once you are a student, you can develop or amend your degree programme whilst attending university. Your programme is likely to include courses from other faculties. If you want you can spend two years following a general curriculum, experiencing a range of subjects at university level. Then you can choose to specialise in one subject or a combination of subjects.
Science Entry Requirements

Honours Degree Programmes in Mathematics
In Science we offer both M.Sci. and B.Sc. degrees. The M.Sci degree is a 5 year course. The B.Sc. is a 4 year course. We also teach Combined Honours degree programmes in the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences in which you can study Maths with a subject of your choice from that Faculty. If you do not have a strong interest or qualifications in Science subjects, these may suit you better.
