From here you can get to sites that I think are worth visiting regularly but which didn't fit into any of the other categories. Warning: some of these sites may make you feel bad (at least they make me feel bad)!
OK, now for something that will make you feel really good again: Ubuntu Linux!
This is an operating system, meaning it is an alternative to Windows.
I am yet to see a Windows tool for which there is not a better or equivalent Linux
alternative. The community is wonderfully helpful, the system is stable, everything in it makes sense
(if not then some user like you and me reports a bug and it is corrected in the next release half a year later!) and some of the projects they have are just fantastic. Of course everything, including the operating system, office tools and, well, everything is free! So to get you started:
- If you think that saving an animal species from extinction is a good way of spending your money then the World Wide Fund for Nature may help you there. If you don't think this way then have a look anyway, you might change your mind.
- If you don't want to have remorse when eating fish then you can consult this guide to sustainable fish consume.

- If you have questions, visit these forums. Needless to say that if you don't find your question answered already, then registering and asking it yourself is completely safe. You will not receive any spam, but a quick and helpful answer instead.
