Professional Development
At Glasgow University:
Recruitment & Selection Training (Feb 2010)
Completed the New Lecturer Training Programme and became Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (August 2009)
Supervisory Skills for Research Staff (June 2007)
The Royal Society offers several training courses for its research fellows. I have participated in the following programmes:
Royal Society MP-Scientist Pairing Scheme (2009) I was paired with Ann McKechin, MP for Glasgow North and Under Secretary of State of the Scotland Office. Ann visited the Department in December 2009.
Communication Skills Course (April 2008)
Royal Society Innovation Course - Business and Science (July 2007)
Pilot course at the National Science Learning Centre (York). Research Fellows interacted with school children (11-16 years old) in order to promote the importance of science (April 2007)
