A LMS and Clay institute research school at the University of Glasgow.

Monday 25th of August to Friday the 29th of August, 2014.

The research school will be held in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Glasgow. The school is aimed at PhD students and early postdocs wanting to learn about topics in algebraic Lie theory and representation theory that are currently of great interest. It will be held the week before a conference at the ICMS in Edinburgh on Algebraic Lie theory. Particpants in the research school are encourage to apply to attend the conference too. Further details on how to apply for the conference will appear soon.

A poster for the research school is avaliable here (please feel free to advertise it in your department).

The application deadline has now passed and we cannot accept any more applications. Due to the unexpectedly large number of applications we received, it is taking us a while to work out who can be accepted on the research school. We ask applicants to be patient - they will be contacted as soon as a decision has been made. Information on the school fees.

For overseas particpants, support will be available to contribute towards travel costs.

Lecture courses

The research school will consist of three lecture course:

  • Rational Cherednik algebras - Iain Gordon (University of Edinburgh)
  • Hecke algebras and Quiver Hecke algebras - Andrew Mathas (University of Sydney)
  • Categorification in Lie theory - Catharina Stroppel (University of Bonn)

The research school is supported by the London mathematical society and the Clay institute.
