Research Interests

I am currently studying the hydrodynamic interactions of bi-flagellate micro-organisms using the method of regularized Stokeslets. Along with the numerical computations of flow fields, swimming speeds, re-orientation rates and effective eccentricities of swimming cells, I am also conducting experimental work. The experimental side involves capturing realistic beat patterns for swimming C. reinhardtii cells as well as studying the flow produced by stuck and free-swimming cells. Flows are measured using particle image velocimetery (PIV) techniques.
