Research Interest
My research is in Number Theory and related areas of algebra, analysis, geometry and probability theory, and I am a member of the Number Theory and Combinatorics research group in Glasgow.
I have worked on a variety of topics search under "Odoni, R*" on Math.Sci.Net for a list of publications.
Currently I am working on additive polynomials and Drinfel'd modules, constructive Galois theory and quantitative Chebotarev Density Theorems for infinite extensions of number fields.
Also the estimation of a new kind of character sum over finite fields.
Recent Ph.D students supervised.
Gavin McNay (1996), Stephen Turner (1996), Andrew Sharkey (1999).
Current Ph.D student
Sophie Huczynska is working on Drinfel'd modules.
